Figurative artist exploring the interdependent nature of life on Earth — identity, exchange, and our place among one another.
A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and the daughter of artist Rachel Ellis Kaufman, Heather Blume grew up immersed in a diverse artistic region. She earned a BFA in Painting summa cum laude from the University of North Florida, then an MFA in Sculpture cum laude from the New York Academy of Art, completing her studies in Advanced Art Appraisal at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, the Cahoon Museum of American Art, and — internationally — the British Museum in London and the Royal Coin Cabinet of Sweden. Today she pairs her studio practice with teaching workshops in figure drawing, figure sculpture, mixed media, and medallic sculpture.
